IMPORTANT LINK FROM THE VIDEO: REGISTRATION INTENT FORM
Unicoi County Director of Schools John English released a video statement on Tuesday with information concerning the reopening of Unicoi County Schools facilities to students and staff on August 10.
In the video, English explained that the district will be working closely with local and regional health officials to monitor active cases of COVID-19 in the area, and to determine which of three status levels the district will operate on at a given time—green, yellow, or red.
English also said parents and guardians need to complete the REGISTRATION INTENT FORM for each student in their household for the upcoming school year. This form allows parents and guardians to select the mode of instruction they prefer for their students—traditional/in-person or virtual/online.
The form will be open until Monday, July 20 at noon. English reiterated the importance of completing the form, as it will assist school officials in preparing for the upcoming school year and assigning staff as necessary for virtual students.
English said the district will be releasing its full set of COVID-19 operating protocols to this website on Friday, July 17, to help parents and guardians decide the best option for their children when completing the form.
